A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Southeast Florida, specializing in school settings. This contract role offers both full-time and part-time options, focusing on evaluations to support the district in addressing evaluation backlogs, particularly for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Location and Schedule:
- Oak Hammock K-8, Port St. Lucie, FL: 2 days per week (DHH Cluster Site)
- CA Moore K-7 (2 days) and FK Sweet Elementary (3 days), Ft. Pierce, FL: Full-time or split part-time between both schools; FK Sweet includes 1 ASD self-contained unit, CA Moore does not have self-contained units.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations, with an emphasis on Autism evaluations to assist the district in catching up on assessments.
- Collaborate with onsite SLPs and SLPA to provide speech and language support to students.
- Manage caseloads across 1-2 schools depending on assignment and availability.
Qualifications And Experience
- Active Speech-Language Pathology licensure required.
- Experience conducting evaluations, especially for students with Autism, is essential.
- Ability to work onsite and meet district credentialing requirements including fingerprints (potentially transferable from Department of Health records).
- Flexible availability to work full-time or part-time schedules.
